In my topical steroid withdrawal detoxification journey, at the beginning no cream, lotion, and/or balm (you name it) worked on my skin it was just a nightmare putting ANYTHING on, even water was painful. After the major detoxification stage (broken skin, oozing, inflammation, flaking), my skin was at the stage where it could tolerate some form of topical moisturiser as additional nourishment for healing.
I bought and also got offered lots of "natural products" and they were OK, but they got expensive in the long run. Plus I found out that not all of the so-called "natural products" were natural as they claimed. So I started experimenting making my own skincare products just for fun. The best way to ensure I was really putting something non-toxic on my skin was to make it myself. After all, we are what we eat, drink, breathe, think, feel and put on our skin.
After about a year of experimentation and sharing my trial and error products around (thank you so much for those who choose to use my products and gave me feedback), I have a few recipes on hand that I am happy with and would love to share these with you all :) [Site is under construction, recipes will be up soon!]
My hobby project is to
- inspire people to use more natural products / ingredients
- inspire people to make their own skincare products
- inspire people to find the root cause(s) of their skincare issues
- raise awareness about the dangers of chemically-made skincare products and topical pharmaceuticals
- share love
Here on this blog I will share my experience and skincare recipes. I hope to have a collection of natural recipe that can nourish our body from head to toe :)
Remember we are what we eat, drink, breathe, think, feel and put on our skin. So love yourself and fuel yourself with the best!!
Much love,
Ahfaye
