Hydrating Emulsion

My current favourite everyday use! This is super hydrating and sinks into my skin very well. I use more of a lotion/emulsion consistency more than creams nowadays. I also use this on my young boys and use a different scent. Great for dry winter skin.

Hydrating Emulsion

Oil phase 31%

  • 25%      Oil of choice
  • 6%        Emulsifier

Water phase 69% ^

  • 20%       Colloidal oatmeal (optional *)
  • 19%       Water
  • 10%       Aloe vera gel
  • 7%         Glycerin

Last phase

  • 10%      Hyaluronic Acid 2% (can also use 1% - I make my own from powder)
  • 3%        Provitamin B5
  • 2%        Preservative (I use Naturogard powder)
  • 0.4%     Xanthum gum (premix in 1tsp oil) - to thicken the emulsion so it's not too watery
  • 2%        Fragrance

^  Hyaluronic acid and provitamin B5 are calculated as liquids but added in last phase
*  Colloidal oatmeal makes emulsion slightly thicker, if omitting can replace with more water or another liquid e.g., rose water, hydrosols, aloe vera gel, your choice. The consistency of the ingredients will affect the final product's thickness.

HAVE FUN!!!
